The Quilton Conveyor Filter (QTF) is a device mainly consisting of four parts:
a) Filtering area
The filtering area is the part of the conveyor that is located inside the trough and through which the wastewater flows.
It basically consists of the perforated steel plate and the spiral with the cleaning brush.
b) Transport or hoisting area
The transport area is the intermediate area between the filtering area and the area for compacting and removal.
It consists of a trough, lined inside, and the spiral.
c) Area for compacting and removing rejects
The area for compacting and removal is the end of the conveyor, the highest part, and as its name suggests it is the area where the rejects removed from the wastewater are compacted and subsequently discharged from the conveyor.
It basically consists of the pressing area, the spiral, which runs through the drum-screen and the pressure sealing clapper against which the solids are compacted and which is located at the end.
d) Drive unit
The operation of this equipment is effected by a robust low-revolution drive unit that rotates the spiral in a "pulling" direction.
