OPERATION
The water/sand mixture is pumped into the QUILTON Sand Separator. The special design of the inlet and the shape of the tank create a laminar flow, which favours efficient decanting. The solids collect on the bottom and the QUILTON spiral slowly raises the particles (the rotation speed is below 5 r.p.m.) without turbulence, removing them from the water and drains them prior to discharge.
The upper part of the tank and the upper part of the spiral are protected with covers.
Inspection of the outlet discharge area is undertaken by an upper quick opening hatch.
The trough is fitted with anti-wear rods.
The drive unit for "pulling" the spiral is located on the upper part to avoid problems of water-tightness and seals.
El accionamiento del tornillo "tirando" se sitúa en la parte superior para evitar problemas de estanqueidad y de juntas. |
ADVANTAGES
As with all QUILTON conveyors, the spiral on the QUILTON Sand Separator has no centring system, nor any element other than the operating drive unit.
A QUILTON Sand Separator is supplied with supports and is easily installed on a horizontal surface.
There is no risk of clogging by floating materials, which are easily removed.
Water is removed by overflow.
