The design of the QUILTON automatic filtering screen combines the filtering screen with its cleaning system, which ensures the automatic removal of floating and suspended materials in a flow of liquid. The size of the floating materials that it is capable of removing ranges from a diameter of 70 mm., for Q-100 models, to a diameter of 180 mm for Q-200 models.
The continuous belt automatic filtering screen without central chain, of up to 2 m. in width on the Q-200 model, consists of teeth or elements mounted on a 35 mm twin shaft, in the aforementioned model, and driven by stainless steel traction chains located on the sides. The design of the teeth forms a horizontal and vertical filtering screen and allows for self-cleaning; this is achieved by means of the double movement of these teeth; forwards (for discharge of waste) and backwards (for cleaning the teeth) achieved by the assembly of each row of teeth on two consecutive shafts.
This self-cleaning means a clean screen is always presented to the flow of liquid, which guarantees that the QUILTON SCREEN operates efficiently, with a long life, without supervision and requiring minimum maintenance.
